Significant events in 2022

There were many areas in which Autonom achieved excellent results in 2022, winning several awards and accolades, while also expanding the business and entering into new partnerships.

Autonom strengthened its market position with 80% organic growth while also completing the important acquisition of Tiriac Operating Lease, expanding its fleet substantially.

Another key event which took place in 2022 came through the publication of Autonom's first ever Sustainability Report, carried out in the context of having recently joined the UN Global Compact.

Financial success in 2022

Autonom had another successful year in 2022, marking its 16th consecutive year of growth since it was founded. Despite facing various crises and challenges, including the pandemic and geopolitical uncertainties, Autonom adapted and thrived.

The company recorded consolidated revenues of RON 647.2 million, a 64% increase from 2021, and a net profit of RON 57.8 million, up by 157%.

Outstanding business line performance

In 2022, all business lines of Autonom experienced exceptional performances, driving the company’s growth.

The Operating Lease division saw a significant increase of 58%, with revenues of RON 293.9 million and a fleet of 10,949 vehicles.

Autonom Rent-a-Car also had exceptional results, with a 52% revenue growth driven by increased tourism, passenger traffic, and high demand for temporary mobility solutions.

Accelerate the transition to green fleets

In 2022 Autonom attracted a co-funding of 15 million euros from the European Investment Bank, this investment being the first of its kind offered to an independent player in the operating lease and rent-a-car markets in Romania. This will help businesses to accelerate the transition to the greater use of low emissions vehicles and reduce carbon emissions.

On June 3rd 2021, Fitch Ratings, one of the top three rating agencies worldwide, awarded Autonom Services S.A. the IDR (Long-Term Issuer Default Rating) «B+» rating.

Looking forward to the future

Autonom expects that one of the main challenges in 2023 to be the access to financing and its cost due to economic uncertainty.

Nevertheless, Autonom remains committed to its growth strategy, expanding existing business lines and introducing new services and divisions. Autonom is also excited to continue its community involvement through projects which had great impact in 2022.
